Sorry it's been a week since I posted. Well I am now 13 weeks and a few days along. Apparently the baby is now the size of a large shrimp, so I guess that is good! I thought the ms had gone away but the past few days haven't been so great. I got sick in the front yard Thursday and in the backyard last night. I am not constantly standing outside, it just happened that way. Maybe I should avoid leaving my house entirely!
I have had a lot of interesting feelings lately. It's hard to just shut my mind off at night. I am constantly thinking about all of the decisions we have to make, worrying that the baby is growing ok, etc. I guess it doesn't really stop when you are a parent either. I already sit and wonder what our child will be like, if we will make the right parenting choices, if they will like us, and an endless list of questions and possibilities. Luckily we don't have to do it alone and have a lot of friends and family to help us with everything.
Our next appointment is December 3rd. We will check the heartbeat again and will have some bloodwork done. 4 weeks after that we get to find out the sex! Pray for our baby names, we are having a tough time choosing them. Luckily we have 27 weeks (give or take a few) to decide!
Matt and I have two beautiful girls, Keira (almost 3), and Micah (1). Life can be a little hectic sometimes, but I wouldn't change it for anything.

Matt
So for those of you who don't know Matt has a pretty weak stomach when it comes to watching someone get sick. This has obviously created some interesting situations over the past 6 weeks. Somehow he has managed to not actually get sick himself, he's just had to leave the room, not breath and close his eyes :)
That said, he knows just what to do when I get sick. He immediately gets a wet washcloth for my neck/face and some ginger ale to sip on. Within 60 seconds we can usually be back to normal and move on with our day.
The pregnancy has reminded me of just how great Matt really is. He calls to check on me during the day, calls when he's on his way home to see if I need anything and is incredibly accommodating at home. We've discovered that if I eat and wait 15 or so minutes before I get out of bed in the morning that I am less likely to get sick during the morning. So Matt brings me food every morning and puts in on my nightstand for when I wake up. Usually it's sausage biscuits and orange juice. He makes me food pretty much any time of day at the drop of a hat. Last night all I could think about was a milkshake from Chick-Fil-A (that my stomach later decided it didn't want), so Matt drove to Chick-Fil-A at 9 m to get me one! Oh, and he never complains about any of it.
I know he is going to be such a great dad because he does a wonderful job taking care of me! i go to bed every night reminding myself of just how lucky I am and how blessed we both are with everything and everyone in our lives. God brought us together for a reason and I like to think that this child is part of that. Hopefully it will be the best of both of us!

Week 12 Update
I get these updates every Thursday afternoon.
Here is this week's:
The most dramatic development this week: Reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over two inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

Week 11
So several people have asked me to create a blog to post updates on all of the pregnancy stuff... so here it is!
I am now just 2 days away from week 12. I was really hoping the morning sickness would go away by this week, but I got sick several times both Monday and Tuesday. Matt has been so patient with all of it; I know he is just as ready as I am for the morning (all day) sickness to be over! If you haven't heard already, we got to hear the baby's heartbeat last week! It was 164 bpm, where as mine measured 80 bpm. The doctor said that everything looked good, but I have lost 3 pounds since last month. I am sure once I stop being sick I will start gaining the weight.
We go back December 3rd and will have blood drawn to check for any genetic disorders. Then 4 weeks later we get to find out if we are having a boy or girl! I know a lot of you have asked what we want, we honestly don't care; we just want a healthy baby. We plan on having more than one baby so odds are we will have a mix, but if not, we will be happy either way.
I bought my first baby thing on Saturday. The SU bookstore has a few baby things, so I bought a Southwestern onesie! I doubt I will buy much before we find out the sex, but I keep hearing about all of these books I need to buy.
Time to go get some orange juice (one of the only liquids I can stomach). We will keep y'all updated!
